 Dr Siu-man Ng, RCMP, RSW, PhD is an Associate Professor of Department of Social Work and Social Administration, The University of Hong Kong. With a dual professional background in Chinese medicine and psychiatric social work, his research interest is mental health and Chinese culture, in particular, the applications of Chinese medicine and philosophies in mental health practice. A key research theme is the operationalization of the Chinese medicine stagnation syndrome as a mental health construct. In severe mental illnesses, a research focus is on the impacts of family high expressed emotions on the prognosis of schizophrenia.
