Professor Paul Crawford

Professor of Health Humanities, Faculty of Medicine & Health Sciences, University of Nottingham

 Paul Crawford is Professor of Health Humanities at the School of Health Sciences, University of Nottingham and Director of the Centre for Social Futures at the Institute of Mental Health, one of the most prominent bodies for mental health research in UK.  He also co-directs Nottingham Health Humanities Research Priority Area, advancing the applications of the arts and humanities to healthcare, health and wellbeing.

Professor Crawford has held grants from many prestigious funding bodies, most recently directing the Creative Practice as Mutual Recovery programme, a national consortium funded by AHRC/RCUK Connected Communities (£1.5m).  He also leads the Madness and Literature Network and International Health Humanities Network. 

He has held various visiting professor or advisory board appointments globally.  His most recent major publication is Health Humanities (Palgrave: London, 2015).
