Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry, University of Hong Kong

Dr. Hui Lai-ming Christy is currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Psychiatry in the University of Hong Kong. She has been specializing in youth mental health and psychosis studies in relapse prevention, early intervention and long-term outcomes of early psychosis.

Dr. Hui has been highly dedicated to clinical research. Her contribution has been recognized as one of the world’s top 1% researchers by citations in HKU. She has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles in three-/four-star journals in Psychiatry and Mental Health and a top journal in Medicine. She has received the Young Scientist Award twice at international conferences, and the Outstanding Research Output Award of LKS Faculty of Medicine. She attained the Doris Zimmern HKU-Cambridge Hughes Hall Fellowship and worked as a research fellow at the University of Cambridge. Dr. Hui has successfully obtained research funding for up to 30 projects.

Dr. Hui is experienced in teaching and postgraduate research supervision. She also extends her knowledge exchange by presenting at numerous invited lectures at regional/international conferences about mental health, while promoting local awareness of psychosis by serving as a Secretary and Vice-chairperson of Knowledge Development and Transfer in the Hong Kong Early Psychosis Fund (EPISO) since 2007.
