Dr. Amos C. Y. Cheung is a Registered Clinical Psychologist with a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology and BSW from HKU, where he serves as Adjunct Assistant Professor in both Department of Psychology and Department of Social Work and Social Administration. As President-elect of The Hong Kong Psychological Society, he brings extensive leadership experience, having previously served as Vice President and Chair of Division of Clinical Psychology.

Dr. Cheung’s clinical expertise spans psychotherapy, forensic psychology, and mental health across all age groups. A Fellow of HKPS and accredited by the Department of Health, he maintains active roles as a private practice clinical psychologist as well as in education and professional training. His specialized training includes certification as Focusing Coordinator and Master Trainer from the International Focusing Institute.

Beyond clinical practice, Dr. Cheung serves the community through multiple government appointments including the Advisory Committee on Mental Health, Mental Health Review Tribunal, and Guardianship Board. He regularly provides expert witness testimony in Criminal, Matrimonial, and Coroner’s courts. His dual registration as both Clinical Psychologist and Social Worker uniquely position him to advance mental health services in Hong Kong through clinical excellence, professional leadership, and public service.
