Dr Michael Rivera is a biological anthropologist and Mind HK Ambassador. He teaches courses about human culture, diversity and wellness at the University of Hong Kong. His interdisciplinary research explores issues that intersect between the sciences and social sciences, including issues of environmental sustainability, the global history of race/ism, and the lived experience of mental health conditions. He provides pastoral care and career training for undergraduate and secondary school students, and works to promote equitable access to education and preparations for adult life. He has also lived with depression for over twenty years, and advocates for the destigmatization of conversations surrounding mental health among men, youth, and working professionals.
