Dr Lucy Lord is a veteran obstetrician and founding partner of Central Health Medical Practice, where she has provided care to families in Hong Kong for over 30 years. During her career, she has delivered close to 6,000 babies and become known not only for her clinical expertise in high-risk pregnancy and recurrent miscarriage, but also for her passionate advocacy for maternal mental health.A core belief underpinning Dr Lord’s medical practice is that the emotional wellbeing of mothers is the critical determinant of a family’s health and wellbeing, and therefore, it should be the key priority of all healthcare providers. This conviction has informed decades of work—both clinical and charitable—supporting women’s mental health during every stage and every challenge.
In 2017, she co-founded Mind Hong Kong (Mind HK) with Dr Rulin Fuong. Now an independent Section 88 registered charity, Mind HK aims to ensure that no one has to face a mental health problem alone. Under Lucy’s leadership as Executive Chair, the charity has launched bilingual mental health resources, community campaigns, youth mental health interventions, and its Improving Access to Community Therapies (iACT) programme.

In recognition of her contribution to healthcare and mental health advocacy in Hong Kong, Dr Lord was awarded an MBE in the UK’s 2023 New Year Honours List. She remains actively involved in the strategic direction and development of Mind HK, while also working to ensure a sustainable future for the organisation as she transitions back to the UK.
