Mr Alex Lam is a Senior Clinical Psychologist of the Social Welfare Department of HKSARG. He obtained the degree of Master of Social Science in Clinical Psychology from the Chinese University of Hong Kong in 2001 and started serving as a clinical psychologist in Social Welfare Department since 2003. He is in charge of various staff trainings in the department on the psychology of sex and gender minorities and has assisted the Constitutional and Mainland Affairs Bureau of HKSARG on developing training packages for different professionals to enhance their sensitivity towards sex and gender minorities. He has written three booklets to the general public, namely Self-Protection for Teenage Non-Heterosexuals, Same-sex Intimate Partner Violence, and Narratives of Transgender and Gender Diversed Persons and Their Parents. He is also leading a working group in the Clinical Psychological Service Branch of SWD on Service Development for LGBT+ Clients and Their Families.
