Michael C. W. Chiu is an Assistant Manager (Research and Data) at Mind HK, where he leads research initiatives evaluating the effectiveness and accessibility of community-based psychological interventions in Hong Kong. Before joining Mind HK, he worked at The University of Hong Kong on several research projects within the Department of Psychology, gaining extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative methodologies, clinical trials, and community mental health studies.

Michael is also undergoing training as a Wellbeing Practitioner, a role that complements his research focus and deepens his practical understanding of psychological intervention in community settings.

Before transitioning into psychology, Michael built a career as a professional photographer, specialising in portrait and performance-arts photography. His creative background continues to inform his curiosity about emotion, human connection, and wellbeing.

He holds a Master of Social Sciences in Psychology from The University of Hong Kong, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Photography Portfolio Development from the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London.
