This is Professor Olga Zayts-Spence
Prof. Olga Zayts-Spence directs Research and Impact Initiative for Communication in Healthcare at HKU. Drawing on her dual background in sociolinguistics and public health, she has researched healthcare communication in diverse healthcare contexts, working together with healthcare institutions and NGOs in Hong Kong. She has published widely in leading international journals in the medical, health and social sciences. She is also the founding editor of the book series “Routledge Studies in Language, Health and Culture”. Her latest book “Thriving Workplaces: Bridging Mental Health and Research and Practice” (with Dr. Zoe Fortune) (Routledge, 2025) brings together extensive empirical evidence from several large-scale projects on workplace mental health in Hong Kong. Prof. Zayts most recent project (funded by two prestigious Collaborative Research Funding grants) focuses on the mental health of university graduates transitioning to the post-COVID-19 workforce. The research team have been working to develop a digital resource hub, Graduate Mindmap (www.graduatemindmap.com) with information and resources for graduates to support them during this period.
