Professor Dinesh Bhugra has authored/co-authored over 600 scientific papers, chapters, editorials and 49 books several have won awards and translated into Mandarin and Japanese.
His recent research has focused on burnout in medical students and doctors, geo-psychiatry, mental health of sexual minorities and otherism.
He is on the board of two mental health charities:Sane and Psychiatry Research Trust and a non-executive director of Sussex Partnership Foundation NHS Trust. He was Chair of mental Health Foundation 2011-2014 when he launched two influential reports-Future of Mental Health Services in the UK and also Psyhciatry’s Social Contract.
As President of the BMA, he led on Medicine’s Social Contract, Survey of doctors’ mental health and campaign for health equality.
